lauren & matt {married}

We just love it when our brides send in their weddings as well as a little love story to go with it!  It just brightens our day when we see those land in our inbox :)  Here is a little glimpse into Lauren & Matt's story...

Lauren first saw Matt in church back in 2003. She was daydreaming, and looked over to see this cute, older guy. They never made eye contact, but Lauren knew she would never see him again anyway. Fast forward to 2011 to Lauren's first day of work at a private high school in Louisville, Ky. While on a tour, Lauren walked into the faculty lunch room, and immediately spotted the same man she saw about 10 years ago. After that day, Lauren held off approaching him for a few weeks, but finally stopped Matt in the hallway one day to ask him if he belonged to that church. Of course he did! In the weeks to follow, Matt started to visit Lauren’s office every day after work, and they began to hang out with a mutual work friend. One day that friend had to cancel, but Matt asked Lauren if she wanted to hang out anyway. A little over four years later, Matt proposed!

On October 8, 2016, surrounded by their family and friends, Lauren and Matt said their vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony. Before the ceremony, Lauren’s two brothers lit a memory candle for their Mom who passed away in 2013. Then Lauren’s two sisters walked her Dad down the aisle to light the parents’ candle (traditionally known as the mothers’ candle) from the memory candle. The light from the memory candle brought her parents’ light together.  The wedding ceremony was beautiful and filled with so much love. It was followed by a very exciting reception complete with donuts and dancing! They ended the night with an unforgettable shot of Lauren and Matt in front of the Louisville skyline.
