Shopping Small for Your Wedding
Being from the Louisville area I am keenly aware of the "shop small" movement. Us Louisvillians LOVE our "shop local", "keep Louisville Weird", "shop small", "makers" terminology! Purchasing items, foods, and services from locally owned small business gives back to our local economy and puts food on a local family's table. It is something we are passionate about in these parts. It is SO important to shop small and shop local when it comes to maintaining local economic growth and development, and what better way to do that than planning a wedding!?
Think about it, when you plan a wedding you usually source your vendors from the local pool of wedding professionals in your area! Maybe you buy local handmade goods for attendant gifts, or personalize your wedding with help from a local calligrapher. What a great way to give back to your community indirectly! And guess what? These talented individuals that cater your event, style your wedding, take your pictures, bake your cake, and *cough cough* help you select a wedding dress... We are just locals too! We go to Oaks {not Derby}, we drink Bourbon {not Whiskey}, we cheer for the Cards {or the Cats depending on who you talk to}, we probably know 10 people you know if we chat long enough, and when I ask you what school you went to, you know I meant high school not college. We are one of you, and we love playing a part in our towns success!
Thank you for shopping local. Being a small business is hard stuff, and we appreciate everyone that shops at local businesses instead of the big chains, internet, or leaves the community to shop in another major city or state! You are helping grow YOUR community, and that is an amazing thing!
Say "Hi" next time you run into us at Comfy Cow, Garage Bar, or Heine Brothers!
Some Locals you might need to know for planning your shindig {this is just a small sampling of what our great city has to offer}!
